Traditional Pilchards


400g can Lucky Star Pilchards
4 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 large onion, diced
Half of a green pepper, diced
1 mutton stock cube
1tsp Curry powder
25ml sunflower oil
15ml Barbecue spice
1 can Baked beans (optional)


Heat the sunflower oil in a pan, add the onion and the green pepper. Fry them until they are soft
Add the curry powder, tomatoes and stock cube then lower the heat so that they simmer for about 5 minutes
Remember to stir them frequently to not burn
Mash the pilchards and add to the mixture
Add the baked beans to the mixture(optional)
Add the barbecue spice
Allow to simmer for 5 minutes stirring frequently before serving
