Pilchard Curry


1 x 400g Lucky Star Pilchards in Tomato Sauce
1 x onion, finely sliced lengthwise
1 x curry leaf stem
1 x green chilli
4 x tomatoes, chopped
1 x teaspoon fenugreek seeds
1 x teaspoon mustard seeds
1 x teaspoon cumin
1 x teaspoon masala/curry powder
1 x teaspoon garlic and ginger, ground
Coriander for garnishing


Saute the onions in a pan until soft
Add the fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds and cumin and allow the seeds to pop
Add the chopped tomatoes, curry leaf stem, curry powder, ginger and garlic
Let simmer for 15 minutes on medium heat
Add the Lucky Star Pilchards and allow to cook for 10 - 15 minutes
Garnish with coriander and serve
