Frikkadels with rice and dhall


For the frikkadels:
400g Lucky Star Pilchards
2 green chillies chopped
1 tsp Masala
1 tsp turmeric
Ginger and garlic paste
Coriander – finely chopped
1 tsp salt
1 onion, sliced
1 egg
5 tsp flour
frac12 cup oil

For the Dhall:
1 ½ cup pink Dhall, washed
1 chopped tomato
3 green chillies
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt
Coriander rice


For the Pilchards:
Drain Pilchards well.
Combine all the ingredients and mix together until it forms a paste.
Heat oil in a large saucepan.
Mix mixture again.
Make small balls and press them flat.
Fry balls for 10min until light brown.

For the Dhall:
Boil Dhall, tomato, chillies, turmeric and salt until soft and thick.
Braise onion, ginger and garlic paste and mustard seeds together until brown. Add to Dhall mix.
Simmer for 10 minutes.
Add coriander, serve with rice and enjoy.
