Lucky Star Mussel Chakalaka
1 onions, chopped
1 green bell peppers, chopped
25ml tomato paste
20ml mild curry powder
2ml chilli powder (or to taste)
1 carrots, grated
1 tomatoes, chopped
¼ green chilli, chopped
2 x 85g tin Lucky Star Smoked Mussels, drained
- In a pan, heat up the oil and fry the onion and pepper until the onion is tender.
- Add the tomato paste, curry powder, turmeric, chilli powder and grated carrots, fry for a further 2 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, chopped chilli and water and stir. Add the salt and pepper and cook for about 15-20 minutes until vegetables soften and sauce thickens.
- Once the chakalaka is ready, stir in the Lucky Star Smoked Mussels. Serve with fresh bread or mielie pap.
